Your Lessons

You might find your learning to be easier if you begin with lessons of 1 to 1.5hr in duration. You can choose a 2hr lesson if you wish. 

As a rough guide, a novice pupil who takes a lesson per week should find him or herself nearing test standard after around 4-5 months, although of course everyone learns at different rates; some will achieve test standard far sooner, and some will take longer to attain their full driving licence. 

For novice drivers, the first few sessions are conducted on quiet, lightly-used roads. Gradually, as you gain in confidence, we will begin to drive on busier roads, developing your skills and knowledge lesson by lesson, until I deem you to be of test standard.

I will happily take on pupils of every ability; from the complete novice to the test-standard pupil. Wherever you are in your learning career, you can be assured that your training will be pitched to your individual level of driving competence.

Once your driving is of a standard that you are able to control the car safely at all times on the road, you will begin to work on your reversing and manoeuvres, one of which will crop up in your practical driving test. Finally, as you reach test standard, you will be left to drive more or less independently, with minimal prompting from me.
